Suffering is as much a part of life as breathing. The hard question for us as, Bible-believing Christians, is, “Where is God when I am hurting?”
The suffering that seems most troubling for the knowledgeable believer is the suffering that just does not seem fair. This is the suffering that comes when your wife is lying on the surgical table, and you must make the impossible choice: will it be the life of your wife or the life of your unborn child? It is at that moment we, the Bible-believing Christians have are hardest questions.
It is at this point of pain that we default to our “cause and effect” worldview. Here is the thinking of our minds:
“God, I am a believer, I love you with all my heart, I know from Scripture that you are God, you are Sovereign, you are all powerful, you are capable of effecting any change you desire, you are loving, I am your child, you love me so, in knowing and believing all this, why am I in this situation?”
Join us this week as we continue to struggle with “Suffering & the Sovereignty of God.”
